Peggy Jean Douglass, 82, of Collinsville, passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb. 17, 1934 to Francis Leard and Maggie Jane (Akins) Thomason in Oologah. She married Clifford Jerry Douglass on Nov. 22, 1952 in Tulsa and together they raised three children. She worked for McDonnell Douglas for 31 years until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Shelter Free Will Baptist Church and the Shelter FWB Ladies Auxiliary, a UAW union member and officer (steward), and a Democratic voter registrar. She was a lifelong resident of the Collinsville area and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Douglass of the home; children, Vickie Lynn Chamberlain, Brent George Douglass and Gregory Don Douglass; brothers, Robert L. Thomason and Donald Thomason; grandchildren, Jennifer Amen, Julie Heaton, Eric Douglass, Shane Douglass, and Jacob Douglass; step-grandchildren, Kristina Whitmore, Bo Whitmore and Chad Chamberlain; great-grandchildren, Leilani Amen and Jonah Amen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, Ina Mel Glance, Bart Thomason, Etta Mae Burdick, Ruby Garrison and Reon Williams.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23 at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Services are to be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Shelter Free Will Baptist Church in Collinsville with Rev. David Bilby officiating. Burial will follow in Wann Cemetery.
